Everyday Drinkers Audio Show

Our goal with the Everyday Drinkers audio show was to bust out some on-the-fly spirit, wine and beer reviews without getting too “pompous” and “straight laced.” This was the brand that kicked off the concept of “Everyday Drinking” in which a group of people sit down and tell you what the drink is all about from their palate to your ears.

Common Man Cocktails

By Derrick Schommer, June 20th, 2010,in CMC, Featured » | No Comments »

Imagine yourself hosting a party with friends, you’ve got a few cocktail glasses and a couple bottles of liquor. You’re buddies say, “make me a drink” and what do you do? Many people will crack open a recipe book they might have collecting dust in the drawer and start looking to see if they’ve got all the ingredients to make something tasty.

The Problem?

You don’t know what tastes good and you don’t even know if some of the ingredients in the list are alcoholic, garnishes or simply used to enhance the color and taste! There is where Common Man Cocktails fits into the picture: we are here to make drinking fun and equip you with the recipes to impress your friends at parties. Everyday Drinkers: Common Man Cocktails is hosted by Derrick Schommer with camera and editing by his wife Jennifer Schommer. Common Man Cocktails is intended to demonstrate the creation of great cocktail recipes focusing on the “average joe.”

Although there are more professional ways to make a drink that require more time and dedication, many great cocktails can be made at home for fun without certifications and degrees. We’re showing the “everyday drinker” how to create some beautifully tasting concoctions. Enjoy!

We mixed in some comedy to fit a lighthearted party atmosphere amongst friends. We usually have at least three audio personalities on the show, sometimes pushing five friends from around the United States chatting it up over the spirit. We tackle a bit about its history, origin and what our personal opinions are all about.

And, we bust on each other and poke fun when we can, part of being friends. Oh, and it’s explicit.
